The Tema Ghana Stake recently hosted another uplifting Gathering Place Devotional, bringing together young adults and members for an evening of learning, reflection, and meaningful discussion centered on the theme:
“Building Careers with Faith, Skills, and Purpose.”
The devotional provided valuable insights into personal development, career growth, and self-reliance, encouraging participants to approach their professional journeys with both faith and intentional action. Through practical examples, real-life experiences, and gospel-centered principles, attendees were challenged to think differently about success, growth, and their divine potential.
A highlight of the evening was the use of relatable Ghanaian examples to illustrate the importance of adaptability and resilience. Participants reflected on how brands such as MTN have evolved over time to meet changing needs while continuing to serve their customers effectively. The discussion also explored the remarkable journey of Bandana, now known as Shatta Wale, demonstrating how perseverance, reinvention, and the willingness to pivot can transform challenges into opportunities for success.
These examples reinforced a powerful message: growth often requires us to embrace change, develop new skills, seize emerging opportunities, and trust the Lord’s timing while remaining grounded in gospel values.
The devotional emphasized that faith provides direction and purpose, but lasting success also requires diligent effort, continuous learning, and a willingness to adapt in an ever-changing world. Participants were encouraged to prepare themselves spiritually, intellectually, and professionally as they pursue education, careers, entrepreneurship, and service.
