The Tema Ghana Stake Choir, also known as the Tema Tabernacle Choir, in collaboration with the Bountiful Tabernacle Choir recently visited the Tema General Hospital to minister to patients through the power of music. During the event themed ‘Ministering to the Sick‘, the choir’s beautiful songs of healing had a soothing effect on the patients, with those who were awake sitting up in their beds to listen attentively and those who were asleep experiencing peaceful rest.
The choir’s visit brought joy and happiness to both the in-patients and out-patients, who sang and danced along with the choir. As a nurse at the hospital witnessed, the choir’s performance was a true act of Christlike service, bringing comfort and hope to those in need.
In Alma 6:6, “And the priests were not to depend upon the people for their support; but for their labor they were to receive the grace of God, that they might wax strong in the Spirit, having the knowledge of God, that they might teach with power and authority from God.” Through their ministry of music, the Tema Ghana Stake Choir demonstrated the power of God’s grace to heal and uplift, and brought a spirit of peace and hope to all who were blessed to hear them.
We can all learn from the example set by the Tema Ghana Stake Choir and strive to serve others in similar Christlike ways. Whether through music, acts of kindness, or simply being present and offering a listening ear, we can make a difference in the lives of those around us and bring a little bit of light to a world that can often feel dark and overwhelming.
