Growth Hub Open Hub: A Tema Ghana Stake YSA Devotional

Friday, 28th March, was a remarkable evening for the Young Single Adults (YSAs) of the Tema Ghana Stake as they gathered at the Tema Gathering Place for their monthly devotional. The event, themed “Growth Hub Open Hub,” highlighted the various programs designed to foster spiritual and temporal growth among the YSAs.

In attendance were key leaders, including President Stephen Abu Jr. and President Delvin Sanderson of the stake presidency, the couple missionaries assigned to the gathering place Elder and Sister Powell, sis Thornton and several high councilors of the stake. The devotional was an inspiring evening filled with uplifting messages, testimonies, and the introduction of new initiatives aimed at empowering the YSAs.

The program commenced with Sister Chloe Alafegha-Quakumey, who warmly welcomed everyone to the Tema Gathering Place, also known as the “Growth Hub.” She emphasized the importance of the new programs introduced by Church leaders to support the spiritual and temporal development of the YSAs. Her remarks set the tone for an evening of learning and inspiration.

The Importance of Spiritual and Educational Programs

Brother Prince Niezer, representing the service missionaries in the stake, spoke about the significance of the programs held at the gathering place, including:

  • Seminary & Institute – Strengthening gospel knowledge
  • Pathway Connect – Providing accessible higher education
He encouraged the YSAs to take full advantage of these opportunities to enhance their personal and professional lives.

Empowering Entrepreneurs with Entrapov

Sister Mina Akaduto, from Entrapov (an NGO dedicated to training entrepreneurs), introduced their 12-week entrepreneurship program, which equips participants with business skills and provides funding for qualified individuals upon completion. Her presentation highlighted the importance of self-reliance and financial independence, aligning with the Church’s emphasis on temporal preparedness.

Life-Changing Experiences in Institute

He testified of the positive changes he has witnessed in participants—both members and non-members—as they apply gospel principles in their daily lives. His message reinforced the value of continuous spiritual education.

A Mission of Love: Testimonies from the Powells

Elder and Sister Powell, the dedicated couple missionaries serving at the gathering place, shared heartfelt testimonies about the blessings of missionary service. They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the YSAs and encouraged them to seek ways to serve in the Church and their communities.

In a significant highlight of the evening, laptops were distributed to Pathway Connect students to aid in their online studies. This generous contribution will help many YSAs pursue their academic goals more effectively.

The YSAs left with renewed determination to engage in the programs available to them, knowing that the gathering place is truly a hub for growth in every aspect of life.

As the Tema Ghana Stake continues to invest in the future of its young adults, events like this reinforce the Church’s commitment to nurturing disciples of Christ who are educated, self-reliant, and spiritually strong.
