The Perpetual Cycle of Blessings: YSA Learn About Education, Self-Reliance, and the PEF Program

Members of the Tema Ghana Stake gathered yesterday at the Stake Gathering Place for another enriching YSA Monthly Devotional, where young single adults were invited to learn about opportunities for education, personal development, and self-reliance through the Perpetual Education Fund (PEF).

The devotional centered on the theme “The Perpetual Cycle of Blessings – How PEF Works” and was led by Sister Sroda Wellington, a Perpetual Education Fund Loan Application Supervisor. Through her instruction and experience, participants gained valuable insight into how the PEF program helps members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pursue education, develop vocational skills, and become more self-reliant.

During the presentation, Sister Wellington carefully explained the purpose of the Perpetual Education Fund and how it has blessed the lives of countless members around the world. She outlined the application process, eligibility requirements, and the responsibilities that come with receiving educational assistance through the program.

Participants were also introduced to newer initiatives and opportunities available under the PEF program, helping them better understand the various resources designed to support personal growth, career development, and long-term success.

One of the most valuable aspects of the devotional was the practical guidance provided regarding the responsible use of educational loans. Sister Wellington discussed the importance of careful planning, wise financial decisions, accountability, and timely repayment. She emphasized that the program is built on principles of faith, responsibility, and service, allowing beneficiaries to not only improve their own lives but also help create opportunities for future participants.

The devotional was highly interactive, with young single adults actively participating through thoughtful questions, personal reflections, and meaningful discussions. The open dialogue allowed attendees to address concerns, gain clarification, and better understand how they can take advantage of the opportunities available to them.

Beyond the practical information shared, the evening carried a spirit of hope and encouragement. Participants were reminded that education and self-reliance are important principles of the gospel and that the Lord provides inspired programs to help His children progress temporally and spiritually.

As the devotional concluded, many left with a greater appreciation for the Perpetual Education Fund and its role in helping members build brighter futures. The session served as a powerful reminder that the PEF program is more than financial assistance—it is a pathway to education, self-reliance, and a continuing cycle of blessings that strengthens individuals, families, and communities.

The Tema Ghana Stake expresses sincere appreciation to Sister Sroda Wellington for her insightful presentation and to all the young single adults who attended and contributed to the discussion. We look forward to future YSA devotionals as we continue to learn, grow, and prepare ourselves to serve the Lord and build self-reliant lives.
